Dr. Irwin Azman is a 1977 graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry and has since been in private practice with a special focus on contact lens and dry eye patients while maintaining a general optometric practice.
Utilizing the OPT concept, Dr. Irwin Azman has developed one of the most thriving and prestigious dry eye and contact lens practices in the United States, and has advised other optometrists in doing the same. His discipline, patience, passion for optometry and patient care, and talent in developing a prosperous dry eye and contact lens practice are uncommon in the optometric profession. These fundamental attributes of the practice form the basis of the OPT Program.
Dr. Irwin Azman has served two four-year terms on the Maryland Board of Examiners in Optometry, acted as a volunteer clinical instructor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, and is the former co-director of contact lens services at the Maryland Center of Eye Care, University of Maryland School of Medicine. He also is a recipient of the Illinois College of Optometry Professional Achievement Award and a City of Baltimore Citizen Citation from Mayor William Donald Schaefer.
