Joanne earned a Bachelor of Science from Towson State University and has worked with Dr. Irwin Azman since 1988. She entered the eye care industry in 1974 and quickly advanced from Optical Manager to Optician to Certified Contact Lens Technician. Joanne is the Clinical Research Coordinator and the Contact Lens Technician at Azman Eye Care Specialists.

Dr. Irwin Azman is a 1977 graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry and has since been in private practice with a special focus on contact lens and dry eye patients while maintaining a general optometric practice.

Utilizing the OPT concept, Dr. Irwin Azman has developed one of the most thriving and prestigious dry eye and contact lens practices in the United States, and has advised other optometrists in doing the same. His discipline, patience, passion for optometry and patient care, and talent in developing a prosperous dry eye and contact lens practice are uncommon in the optometric profession. These fundamental attributes of the practice form the basis of the OPT Program.

Dr. Irwin Azman has served two four-year terms on the Maryland Board of Examiners in Optometry, acted as a volunteer clinical instructor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, and is the former co-director of contact lens services at the Maryland Center of Eye Care, University of Maryland School of Medicine. He also is a recipient of the Illinois College of Optometry Professional Achievement Award and a City of Baltimore Citizen Citation from Mayor William Donald Schaefer.

Dr. Benjamin Azman, a leader in the field, brings over a decade of experience and expertise to his role as the Director of Clinical Education. Joining the practice in 2013, Dr. Azman revolutionized the approach to dry eye management by implementing innovative OPT methods, resulting in a streamlined process that significantly enhanced efficiency.

Having received his training at the esteemed State University of New York College of Optometry, Dr. Azman’s knowledge and skills are unmatched. With Dr. Benjamin Azman continues to be at the forefront of providing cutting-edge care, transforming the field of optometry, and bringing relief to patients in need.

Nicole earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Stevenson University and has worked with Dr. Irwin Azman since 2001.  She is the Director of Marketing at Azman Eye Care Specialists and shares responsibility for administrative functions of the practice.
